Levine Middle College High School (LMCHS) is an honors magnet program offered by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools that consists of grades 11-13.  We are located on the Levine Campus of Central Piedmont Community College in Matthews, NC.  Students have the opportunity to earn college credit during their junior and senior years as well as participate in an additional grade 13 year (if needed) to finish any course requirements to earn an Associates Degree.

• Participate in the CMS School Choice Lottery *** PLEASE NOTE, THE CMS SCHOOL LOTTERY FOR THE 24/25 SCHOOL YEAR HAS CLOSED.  THE NEXT OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY FOR A MAGNET SCHOOL WITH SPACE IS THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN THE REASSIGNMENT/TRANSFER PROCESS WHICH OPENS FEBRUARY 1, 2024.  (SEE THE KEY DATES BELOW.)
  
• Students will also complete an application to Central Piedmont Community College once lottery results have been communicated to families.  We will provide detailed instructions at that time.

Choice Lottery

*** The School Choice lottery for the 2024-2025 school year has closed. Notification results for those who participated will be available mid to late January. Look for your letter in the mail! If you missed this year’s lottery, the Reassignment/Transfer process begins February 1st. 

Reassignment & Transfer Period

Request for Reassignment Period for the district:  February 1, 2024-February 19, 2024.  

*Students brand new or re-enrolling to the district after this date will have ten business days after enrolling to submit a request for reassignment for the 2024-2025 school year.  An application does not guarantee approval. 

Request for Transfer Period for the district in order to receive an answer by the start of school:  February 1, 2024-June 30, 2024

* Middle Colleges have an earlier Request for Transfer deadline than traditional schools because of our earlier start date.
