Title I Schools
As a requirement of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015, the Title I Services Department of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools administers Title I funds for public schools, private schools, and neglected and delinquent institutions.
Public Schools
CMS has identified 103 Title I schools for the 2025–2026 school year. Schools qualify as Title I when the percentage of directly certified students is at least 75%.
