The Board of Education’s Legislative Affairs are managed by the Intergovernmental Relationships Committee (IRC). The IRC monitors the actions of federal, state, county, and municipal governments that may impact CMS. It helps develop and track the Board’s legislative agenda, provides regular updates, and recommends responses to proposed government actions. The committee also assists the Board in giving timely direction to the General Counsel when immediate action is needed.
