Lenora Shipp is a native of Charlotte. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Barber-Scotia College, a master’s degree in educational administration from Ohio State University and a master’s degree from UNC Charlotte in curriculum, instruction and supervision. She was a teacher before she became an assistant principal and ultimately a principal. She has won national recognition as an accomplished teacher and school administrator. Her mom was also a CMS educator, and her family had a strong belief in public education. She is a proud mother of a CMS graduate who is now a Physician (MD) and a new grandmother.
