• The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) provides a warm, caring environment beyond school hours where your children have the opportunity to play with school friends and do homework. Our ASEP facilities offer exciting activities which stimulate children to be healthier and happier.

ASEP uses age-appropriate materials and equipment for students. Students spend out-of-school hours in safe and stimulating environments from the media center to the playground. Site coordinators, school administrators, and teachers work together to ensure the program supports learning during the school day by using the Common Core and Essential Standards curriculum.

Besides academic support, the ASEP program focuses on developing students' social skills. Program leaders are respectful and positive toward students, mindful of the importance of appropriate role models and encourage them to develop friendships and social skills.

The majority of our ASEP sites are licensed by the North Carolina Division of Child Development.
