Dr. Jared Thompson, Principal

Jared Thompson was named principal at Mallard Creek High School, effective June 19, 2023. He was principal at Carmel Middle from 2020 to 2023 and assistant principal from 2017 to 2020. Dr. Thompson was the dean of students at Ridge Road Middle from 2015 to 2017 and a teacher at Westerly Hills Academy from 2013 to 2015.

Dr. Thompson received his Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Lenoir-Rhyne University (2012) where he was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow and a captain of the football team. He earned his Master's degree in Executive Leadership (2016) and Doctorate in Educational Leadership (2019) from Gardner-Webb University.

Dr. Thompson is originally from Statesville, North Carolina. He and his wife Amanda have a three-year-old son, Solomon, and currently reside in the Mallard Creek community.
