Letter from Dr. Crystal L. Hill, Superintendent

To the students and families of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools,

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! The safety and well-being of our students and staff are among our top priorities here in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. We work to provide school environments that are welcoming, safe and conducive for student learning every day.

The Code of Student Conduct: Student Rights, Responsibilities and Character Development Handbook outlines our expectations for all students. This handbook helps us create and maintain environments where every student can learn and be successful.

Please review this handbook in its entirety. If you have questions, comments or concerns about any portion of this handbook, please contact your school directly. Once you’ve reviewed the documents, please sign the Student and Parent Acknowledgement and Pledge form and return it to your school. The form states that you understand the policies and agree to the expectations, responsibilities and consequences outlined for student conduct.

We need your help in maintaining a school environment that serves the needs of all of our students, staff and families. Families, please talk with your student(s) about the importance of making good decisions and treating others how they would like to be treated. Students, we ask that you come to school ready to learn, be respectful of others and make every day a great day.

Thank you for choosing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. I wish you and your family a successful school year!

Sincerely,

Dr. Crystal Hill

Crystal L. Hill, Ed.D.
