Purpose of L&T Department
The Learning and Teaching team in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools serves as the instructional backbone that drives educational excellence across our diverse district. We are responsible for developing and implementing curriculum resources that align with state standards while addressing the unique needs of our urban learners. We provide ongoing professional development and coaching support to our teachers and leaders, helping them master evidence-based instructional practices and teaching methods that engage all students effectively. Additionally, we analyze student achievement data to identify learning gaps and develop targeted interventions and resources, ensuring that every school within our district has access to high-quality educational resources and support. By fostering collaboration between schools, facilitating the sharing of best practices, and maintaining our focus on continuous improvement, we work to close achievement gaps and prepare all students for success.
