2026 Summer Leadership Conference

School may be out for the summer, but CMS school administrators and district leadership continued to soak in summer learning at the annual Summer Leadership Conference.

The CMS Office of Educational Leadership Development organized three full days for leadership to connect and learn with one another at West Charlotte High School through a variety of breakout and networking sessions with the theme “Leadership, Innovation and the Power of What’s Next.”

CMS leadership worked with a strategic focus on strengthening school and district operations, advancing teaching and learning, and improving overall school performance. By the end of the day Thursday, attendees left with a charge to think about “what’s next” as they head into the 2026-27 school year.

“Summer Leadership Conference plays a vital part in helping our school leaders as well as central office leaders prepare for a successful school year with understanding what are the key initiatives and what are those things we need to be ready to receive our students and teachers for the upcoming school year,” said James Garvin, executive director of the Office of Educational Leadership Development.
