The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education voted to modify the 2025-26 academic calendar at the emergency meeting of the board on Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Two early release days will now shift to full instructional days. Those days include:

• Wednesday, Feb. 11
• Wednesday, April 29 

The modification comes in response to winter weather that has impacted the district this school year.

“These calendar adjustments demonstrate our commitment to maximizing every learning opportunity for our students,” said Superintendent Dr. Crystal Hill. “Converting these early release days to full instructional days ensures students receive the
comprehensive educational experience they deserve.”
