This summer, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools offered a unique glimpse into the world of its student interns through a special video series, "Bright Minds, Big Impact: Our Summer Intern Takeover Series." The now-completed series showcased the immense talent and valuable contributions of a few students participating in the Mayor's Youth Employment Program (MYEP) across the district.
The series was the brainchild of Ziani Chambers, the district communications department's own summer intern. Placed with the communications team due to her keen interest in photography and photojournalism, Ziani took the lead on the project from concept to completion. She coordinated with various departments, conducted interviews, captured photos and video, and edited all seven spotlights, demonstrating remarkable professionalism and creativity.
The project not only gave Ziani hands-on experience in multimedia production but also created a powerful platform to celebrate her peers.
A Showcase of Future Leaders
The "Bright Minds, Big Impact" series provided an inside look at the diverse roles interns held, highlighting the skills they developed and the support they provided to our schools and central offices. Each video tells a unique story of a student making a tangible difference.
