Student Code of Conduct at Athletic Events Reminder
As we continue our winter sports basketball season tonight against South Mecklenburg, we want to remind everyone of the rules and expectations to ensure an environment that is safe, enjoyable and respectful for all. All athletic events are school events and the CMS Code of Conduct applies to all students.
Myers Park has a long tradition of excellence in academics and athletics and we should all honor that tradition in our words and actions. Expectations and guidance for all athletic events are as follows:
- Players and fans respect and appreciate each other.
- Guests will enjoy the basketball experience free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language and obscene gestures. This will not be tolerated and will result in a removal from the event.
- Guests who engage in fighting, throwing objects or attempting to enter the court will be immediately ejected from the event and receive school consequences.
- Obscene or indecent messages on signs or clothing will not be permitted.
- Guests will comply with requests from administration, Campus Security Associates and Police Officers regarding operations and emergency response procedures.
Our goal is for all students to make good decisions and not place themselves in a situation where school or legal consequences will hinder future opportunities. Please act accordingly at all school functions. For the game at South Mecklenburg tonight, a limited number of tickets will be sold due to the small venue. This is a first come-first served ticket sale and any person not receiving a ticket must immediately leave the school property.
