Weather Alert for students and families for Friday, September 27, 2024: Asynchronous/Remote Learning
With continued high winds and heavy rain predicted for Friday, September 27, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will move to remote learning for that day. This remote learning will be completed asynchronously (no face-to-face instruction). This a REQUIRED remote day. All asynchronous assignments for the day will be posted on the teacher’s Canvas page by 7:00 AM on Friday, emailed out via ParentSquare by 7:00 AM on Friday, and/or provided to the students via paper on Thursday. To ensure all students have the resources they need, teachers will review with students on Thursday how to access the assignments for Friday. If you have any questions about your student’s assignments, please contact your student’s teacher(s). Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and offices will be closed to the public on Friday, September 27, 2024, due to inclement weather.
Asynchronous/Remote Learning Attendance Guidance: A student is considered present during remote instruction days if they:
- Complete Assignments: Finish their assigned tasks for each day, either online or offline; and/or
- Have Daily Check-ins: Engage in a two-way communication with their teacher(s).
Scheduled School Events:
- All after school activities, including athletics, club meetings and tutoring at any Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, are cancelled on Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27.
- The Homecoming Football Game against Palisades High School will be on Saturday, September 28 at 6:00 PM. The homecoming Barbeque take-out is rescheduled to Friday, October 25.
- The Homecoming Dance is cancelled for Saturday evening and will be rescheduled to be determined.
