Spectrum of the Arts

The Betty Stovall Spectrum of the Arts is a unique arts experience for current 4th– 8th grade Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools students who are talented in the areas of art, music, dance, drama, or creative writing. Students are nominated for this program by the arts area teachers in their schools. Spectrum of the Arts, now in its 29th year, offers students the opportunity to spend six hours a day in an intensive study of the arts. Three hours of each day are spent in a primary area (referred to as a “Major”) of talent, and the remainder of the day is divided between each of the other arts areas (referred to as “Minors”).
