Chantilly Montessori student named North Carolina’s AAA School Safety 2023-24 Patroller of the Year

Sadie Myers, sixth grader at Chantilly Montessori School, was named the AAA School Safety 2023-24 Patroller of the Year for North Carolina. Sadie was recognized, along with her fellow safety patrollers, at a ceremony in the school’s gym.

“Sadie takes any role assigned to her and handles it with grace and courtesy,” said Jaime Laymon, Montessori facilitator and adviser over the school’s safety program. “She comes to school with confidence, happiness and a can-do spirit every single day.”

A proud tradition for over 100 years, the AAA School Safety Patrol program includes more than 679,000 patrollers in 35,000 U.S. schools. Sadie is now in the running for the National AAA Patroller of the Year title.

“The AAA Safety Patrol program helped me become more confident in my leadership abilities by giving me responsibilities that push me to do my best,” said Sadie. “The confidence that safety patrol has instilled in me leads me to being a better leader and being able to take charge when needed.”
