Retirees celebrate milestone, beginning of a new chapter

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools celebrated more than 300 retirees during the district’s annual Salute to Service celebration on May 16 at Providence High School. Retirees were recognized for a combined total of 7,344 years of service to the district.

Your role was valuable, meaningful and impactful. And for that, we cannot thank you enough.”

The program also included remarks from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education Chair Stephanie Sneed and Raki McGregor, senior vice president of digital equity and community growth at Novant Health and lead Executive in Residence. McGregor served as the master of ceremonies.

It goes without saying that losing your skills, experience and institutional knowledge will be hard. But through your dedication, you have inspired those who arrived after you. And they will in turn inspire more leaders like you to serve young people.”
