Joe Gibbs Racing visited Long Creek Elementary on Feb. 7 to celebrate its students for reaching their annual Food Drive goal. The students collected nearly 1,700 items, which were donated to Assurance United Methodist Church for use at free community outreach dinners and Room at the Inn.
To show their appreciation, the Joe Gibbs Racing pit crew held exciting pit crew demonstrations and played field games with students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Students also got an exclusive tour of the Hauler, where they learned about the equipment and teamwork needed for a NASCAR race. The Pit Crew athletes had a blast, even admitting that playing with the energetic students was tougher than working a NASCAR race! It was an unforgettable day filled with fun, learning and community spirit.
