Draft Plan in Response to
2024 Comprehensive Data Review
Every four years, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, per Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board of Education Policy (S-ASGP), performs a comprehensive data review. The most recent comprehensive data review was completed in 2024. During the 2025 CMS Board of Education Retreat, CMS staff were directed to focus on two specific areas as aligned with Policy S-ASGP. As a result, staff partnered with a demographer, Cropper GIS, and Magnet Schools of America to utilize surveys, census data, local and national data to evaluate the Program Choice in CMS. Over 10,000 parents responded to the survey. Based on the collection of the feedback and data, the CMS team developed the Draft Plan in Response to the 2024 Comprehensive Review. Please see the timeline below. We welcome you to attend one of the numerous community engagement sessions on this important draft plan.
