Former Student Records Request

Per CMS policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), student records are available only to those authorized by the student or by a parent, guardian, or other responsible person if the student is less than 18 years of age.

Order Instructions and Fees

• Transcript Fees: $10.00 per order (+$5 convenience fee)
• Cumulative Folder: $40.00 processing fee (+$5 convenience fee)

Processing Time: 10-15 business days for electronic transcripts; up to 4 weeks for warehouse records.

Services Not Provided by CMS

Please be advised that the Student Records department does not facilitate the following requests:

• Diploma Replacements: CMS does not offer a diploma replacement service. 

  • If you need a diploma replacement, please contact Herff Jones at 1‑800‑635‑5670 to obtain the replacement request form. A certified transcript is required to verify your graduation date and school.  CMS graduates may request an official transcript at cmsnc.scriborder.com.

 

• SAT/ACT Test Scores: To obtain your official scores, please contact the test provider directly:
  • For SAT scores, visit the College Board
  • For ACT scores, visit ACT.org

Subpoenas for Student Records

All subpoenas for student records must be directed or served to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education. Service should be made via certified mail to the following address:
