Dear Torrence Creek families,

At Torrence Creek, we pride ourselves on providing a safe and welcoming environment for all students. We follow a whole child approach to educating every child and we focus on strong academics, real-life learning experiences, character development, multiple extracurricular opportunities, and social and emotional development.

We are a Cambridge Primary School and we follow and use the Cambridge philosophies, which include providing students with opportunities that challenge them academically and opportunities that help to develop leadership skills. We offer a variety of academic and extracurricular opportunities for all students. This includes two separate Science Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Studios. One is dedicated to science and math and the other to developing technology and engineering skills. A recently added Movement Lab, along with a strong history of music and art offerings, all help to support the education of the whole child.

Torrence Creek Elementary has a long history of academic success. We pride ourselves on our ability to constantly meet and/or exceed growth expectations on the End-of-Grade state tests.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been in education for 24 years, proudly serving as the principal of Torrence Creek since 2017.  Before coming to Torrence Creek, I was privileged to serve as the principal of Winget Park Elementary for five years.  Before that, I was a teacher and administrator within several CMS schools. I received my undergraduate degree in health and physical education from Radford University in Virginia and my master's degree in educational leadership from Gardner-Webb University. My family and I spent 10 years in the Huntersville community and my own children were fortunate enough to attend Torrence Creek Elementary during that time.

Thank you for choosing CMS and Torrence Creek.

Jason Bissinger, principal
