Lauren Stefaniak graduated from James Madison University with a Masters in Exceptional Education. She also graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Masters in School Administration. She was previously a teacher for 12 years.  

In her spare time, she enjoys exploring all the fun things to do at the Whitewater Center and seeing shows at the Belk Theater. She also has a fun and active 7-year-old black lab named Simba.

Ms. Stefaniak has been at Thomasboro Academy for 7 years. She served as an Academic Facilitator before being promoted to Assistant Principal during the 2022-2023 school year. Ms. Stefaniak loves the culture and students at Thomasboro Academy and loves being a tiger. She cannot wait to continue watching our students grow educational and make an impact on our society today.

Vea Rooks graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She then received her Masters in Elementary Education from Clemson University. She began her teaching career at CMS in 1991. Over the course of her career, she taught grades 2nd - 8th in South Carolina and North Carolina. She also taught Special Education at Clemson University. Ms. Rooks attended Wingate University and obtained her Administrative License in Education. 

Ms. Rooks has been at Thomasboro Academy for 5 years as our Dean of Students. Ms. Rooks puts the students first every day and ensures they feel heard and safe. She is ready to see how this year unfolds as we strive for excellence in every way here at Thomasboro Academy.
