Mrs. Bennett is married to Darnell; they have two daughters, Jasmine and Niyah, and a son, Jaden. Mrs. Bennett and her family are members of New River Church. She enjoys music, singing, watching basketball, golf, reading fiction, and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Bennett grew up north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her younger brother and parents before moving to Charlotte to begin her career in education.

Ms. Bennett believes in enjoying life by being around friends and family, continuously learning, and doing things that make her laugh. She lives by the quote "When you give joy to other people, you get more joy in return. You should give a good thought to happiness that you can give out.”— Eleanor Roosevelt.
