• Meet Ms. Joycelyn Bryant - Assistant Principal

    Joycelyn Bryant

Greetings Lake Wylie Families! My name is Joycelyn Bryant and I am excited to serve as the assistant principal at Lake Wylie. I have been an educator within the state of North Carolina for over 18 years. I began my educational journey as a 4th-grade teacher in the Durham/Chapel Hill area for seven years. As a classroom teacher, I enjoyed building relationships with students and their families which inspired me to become a school counselor. I served as a school counselor for nine years within CMS and Durham Public Schools. I recognized the positive impact I was able to have within and beyond the classroom, so I wanted to become a school administrator which has led me here. This is my second year as an assistant principal and I am so excited to join the Lake Wylie Pirate family! I am an alumnus of North Carolina Central University with a bachelor of arts in elementary education and a master of arts in counseling. I attended UNC Charlotte where I received my school administration licensure.

I am originally from Kingsport, Tennessee, however, my family has lived in 3 other southern states. I call Durham, NC home. I am a mom of 2, a first grader and a ninth grader who also attend schools within CMS. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, eating good food, reading, and spending time with my friends and family. If you see me around Lake Wylie Elementary School, please introduce yourself so I can get to know more about you and your family as well. Go, Pirates!
