GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES

Welcome to Billingsville-Cotswold Elementary School (BCE).  BCE is an award-winning International Baccalaureate (IB) magnet school focused on preparing students to be the internationally-minded leaders of tomorrow.  The IB curriculum is based upon a worldwide philosophy of teaching that aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who are lifelong learners. BCE is committed to character development and encourages students to become responsible citizens of the world.

You will find information below that will guide you through the process of participating in our virtual Open House events and applying for a lottery seat via the CMS School Choice lottery.  BCE is a partial magnet school which means our student population is comprised of students attending their neighborhood zoned school, as well as students from across Charlotte attending BCE in a magnet capacity.  All students, neighborhood and magnet, share the same classrooms and participate in the same IB curriculum.

We invite you to attend an Open House and learn more about BCE.  You will hear from our principal, teachers, students, and parent representatives.

SCHOOL TOURS

Historically, our in-person Open House events are followed by a tour of the BCE campuses, including the Billingsville Campus for K-2 students and the Cotswold campus for 3-5 students. In the meantime, our PTA has prepared a Virtual Tour to showcase our facilities, including large classrooms, outdoor learning options, and a state-of-the-art STEAM Lab.  Both of our campuses feature dedicated spaces for Media, Spanish, Art, Music, and Physical Education.
