Welcome

Dear Governors’ Village STEM Academy Community,

Welcome to the 23-24 School year!  We know this year has been extremely difficult and unpredictable for all of us. However, I want to reassure you that my ultimate goal is for our students to feel valued and supported in this new school year. I wanted to share some current information on the opening of schools logistics. Please know that this information is subject to change per CMS, but I will share what we know as of today.  At GVSA, we know how important it is for parents and guardians to have direct, frequent, and open lines of communication with the leaders of our school. Therefore to support this effort, each grade level will have designated leaders. Our leaders will be your first point of contact for administrative assistance.

Welcome to another year of educational excellence at GVSA! I have served in CMS for twenty six  years as a Teacher, Facilitator, Dean of Students, Merger Manager  and currently Assistant Principal for GVSA. I serve both campuses but will be the grade level administrator for sixth, eighth and our EC Scholars.   I look forward to partnering with families for the success of all of our scholars.

I am thrilled to embark on another academic year filled with possibilities. As I step into my 23rd year in education, I am delighted to return to GVSA for my full second year as Assistant Principal.

My journey has been rich and diverse, spanning various roles within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) district. Over the course of my career, I've had the privilege of overseeing a CMS CTE Countywide Magnet Program for 6.5 years serving over 300 students remotely off the main campus of a high school, working as a dedicated School Counselor for 13 years (middle & high), and serving as Dean of Students for 2 years – all within CMS. Notably, my experience has covered all three educational levels: elementary, middle, and high school.

I am truly looking forward to connecting with both familiar and new faces as we collaborate to create an enriching and successful academic experience for our students. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!
