Communities in Schools Males

Dear West Charlotte Male Volunteers,
You are being contacted to request your participation in an awesome volunteer opportunity at WCHS. “Be There Dad” will be a new group at WCHS and will consist of WCHS fathers and male father figures who live or work in the West Charlotte Community. Founder Jeff Usher says, “Be There Dad” is a non-profit organization established to enable and encourage dads to be engaged and involved in the lives of their children. “Be There Dad” is founded on the “power of presence”. The idea says that when dads are present in the lives of their children in a positive way, good things happen. This may include children achieving better grades, having better behavior, and avoiding drug and alcohol usage. WCHS has adopted this concept and wants all scholars to experience the positive outcomes of having supportive father figures in their lives.
The WCHS “Be There Dad” group will focus on building relationships with students and staff as well as helping out with school activities. As a volunteer for “Be There Dad” you could participate in activities during the academic school year. Including, Hospitality for Open House, 1st Day of School Welcome Kick-Off, Decision Day, and School Beautification Day. If each man would volunteer only for a few hours per year, we could make a huge difference for the scholars.
Members of the group must be registered as a CMS volunteer. We will meet soon to explain further how you can be engaged. engaged. WCHS believes you would be a great fit for our program because of your connection with the scholars, school, and community and your desire to help all scholars succeed. If you are interested, please register to participate in this impactful opportunity to assist scholars, families, and school with the WCHS motto of creating Expectations of Excellence.
