  • Good afternoon Parents and Families of

The New Era Class of 2023,

This is Assistant Principal Kevin Poirier with very important information for your Senior Scholar!

We are 25% through the school year and can you believe it, in just about 7 months - your scholar will be graduating from High School!

Here are 4 important points for you.

#1 - Senior Pictures: Senior Pictures of your scholar looked absolutely fantastic! Your scholar received a sheet of paper with the link and online code on how to access the Senior Formal Pictures on Picture Day. If you have been unable to view those pictures, please reach out to Metro Portraits of Charlotte at (704) 376-9889. Makeup Senior Pictures will be on November 29th.

#2 - Cap & Gown: Cap and Gown & other graduation information was given to your scholar in homeroom last Thursday.  You can click here to view a 1 pager that outlines the information for ordering your scholar's cap & gown.  Please note that there are many packages available but there is also a $60 cap and gown option.  Cap & gowns should be ordered by December 15, 2022.

#3 - Senior Dues - Senior dues are $60 and cover the fun activities that will occur during Senior Week in the Spring of this year. This includes the Senior T-Shirt, Senior-specific items, a Senior only Field Trip, Class Breakfast, and more. You can find the link for Senior Dues here.

#4 - College Applications - We are a Quarter in and we want to congratulate all of the scholars who have already been accepted into college and universities this year! Please ensure that your scholar is connecting with their Counselor or Ms. Krystal Hines, our Carolina College Advisor, to discuss plans for their future and explore scholarship opportunities!

And finally, report cards have been mailed home. Please review the report card with your scholar to ensure they are on track to graduate and are doing what they need to do to meet their full potential! That's it for now - thank you for your partnership with West Charlotte High School!
