    About Our School

Cochrane Collegiate Academy was founded in 1962, as Fred Cochrane Junior High School. The school was named after former CMS school board member Fred Cochrane, and "The Colts" was chosen as the mascot to honor the horse farm originally located on the land where the campus was developed. Since then, the school became Cochrane Collegiate Academy and eventually gave birth to the iMeck Academy at Cochrane, which is now the iMeck Academy of Global influencers. Today, Cochrane Collegiate Academy operates as a 6-12 school where the staff is committed to providing a high-quality education to every student, every day.

Our middle school students (6th-8th grade) participate in the CMS’s traditional neighborhood programs. Courses at the Middle School level are team-based with a rigorous curriculum. Middle school students are introduced to programs that develop healthy social and academic habits through SEL/AVID activities. Our CTE department prepares them to become iMeck Students by placing them into cohorts to help guide them in selecting a Career Pathway for their high school career.

Simultaneously, our High School program, iMeck Academy of Global Influencers, is a magnet program that serves 9th-12th grade students in the Green and Purple Transportation Zone. The iMeck Academy of Global Influencers is the leading Digital Marketing Multimedia Design (DM2D) program in CMS where student performance thrives through creativity.

As a multimedia school, we are committed to teaching students the necessary marketing, editorial, design, and communications skills needed to produce potent content. Our goal is to connect students with the passions that will drive their future careers through our 5 Career Pathways (Mini Majors) - Business, Digital Marketing, Customer Relationship Management,  Graphic Design, App and Web Development. Learners who thrive in DM2D present an innovative approach to the demonstration of mastery, while cultivating their interests in Business, Marketing, Graphic Design, App and Web Development, Art, or Journalism.

Students interested in joining our “Influencer Magnet Program” must register at CMS Enrollment and Lottery.
