Dr. Crystal Gaymon

Greetings! I am Dr. Crystal Gaymon. I am so excited and honored to join the Hornets’ Nest family as the new Principal.  I look forward to working with our dedicated and dynamic staff, parents, and community members. But, most importantly, I look forward to working with our students and continuing their efforts toward excellence in academics.

I have served in public education for the last 22 years. My passion for education began when I became a mother. As a mother, of two wonderful children, I appreciate the knowledge our parents bring as their child's first teacher. I look forward to building a partnership with our parents that expresses the school's sincere gratitude for the wonderful children they send to our school each day. I believe that through an active home-school partnership our students will achieve great things. In addition to the support of our parents, I also value the support of our community partners. When just one of our students succeeds it is a victory for our Hornets Nest Elementary family and the CMS community at large.  

As we begin this new school year, the students will be at the center of all we do and deserve our commitment to creating a culturally responsive school environment. In our quest for excellence, as a family, we will boldly and courageously overcome all obstacles to ensure the continued success of our students. I truly believe that our best days are yet to come! I welcome your input and look forward to the opportunity to hear from each of you regarding the strengths and needs of our wonderful school. We are stronger together and together we will continue to rise. Again, it is my extreme pleasure to serve as the proud principal of Hornets Nest Elementary School. Hornets Pride!
