Mrs. Kristina Morgan

I am excited to be joining the HFES team this year as an Principal. My name is Kristina (Kris) Morgan and I bring many years of experience to Huntingtowne Farms. Before coming, I taught fourth and fifth grade for almost twenty years in Charleston (SC) County Schools and in CMS. I was a fifth-grade teacher at Huntingtowne Farms from 2002 to 2004.
I also served eight years as the testing coordinator and an assistant principal at Ardrey Kell High School, and three years as an assistant principal at Southwest Middle School.  This experience has helped me understand the students’ journey as they complete elementary school, go to middle school, and what is expected of them as they move on to high school, preparing for college, a career, or the military. My undergraduate degree is from Belmont Abbey College and my master’s degree is from UNC Charlotte. I am working on my doctorate in Educational Leadership at UNC Charlotte and my research is on the role and effectiveness of high school counselors regarding students’ college and career readiness. The plan is to present and defend my dissertation in the fall of 2024. I am a goal-oriented person. My personal educational goal is to earn a doctorate and my professional goal is to serve as a principal.
I firmly believe in servant leadership, and this year I want to support you personally and professionally. My goal is to get to know you, your teaching styles, and to provide support in instructional planning, alignment to the standards, and differentiated instructional strategies. I have an open-door policy, and you are always welcome to come in for a chat. We will work as a team to provide the best instruction for our students and to meet their varying needs.
I am so excited to return to HFES and I am looking forward to working with you, to supporting our students, and to helping each student in their educational journey.

Sincerely,
Kristina Morgan

About me

  • Besides my love for education, my family fills my heart. I am married and have two children. My daughter Tori is a graphic designer and singer/songwriter who graduated from Appalachian State University, and my son David played football for Elon University and will graduate with his MBA from Elon this May. My husband David and I have been married for 30 years and have six cats and two dogs. We love to travel and visit new places, and we enjoy learning new things together. Right now, we are learning line dancing. What fun!

Volunteering

  • I invite you to participate in our school community as often as you can.  Please remember to register as a CMS volunteer.  All volunteers must register each year and select Huntingtowne Farms as the site.  Please also remember to bring your ID upon entering the school building, as we are working diligently to keep our school safe.
