Mrs. Carrisa Johnson-Scott - Principal

Carrisa Johnson-Scott brings 24 years of educational experience to her role as Principal of Harding University High School, a community rich in history and pride. She is dedicated to ensuring that excellence remains the standard and impactful education is the promise for every student.

Carrisa earned a BS in Mathematics from Clark Atlanta University, a M.Ed. in Secondary Education, and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in education. Over the course of her career, she has served as a classroom teacher for 15 years, an instructional coach for 9 years (8 of those years at Harding), and held leadership roles as Assistant Principal before assuming the position of Principal.

Mr. Jamie Crisp - Assistant Principal

With over 18 years of experience in education, Jamie Crisp has built a solid foundation in leadership, student development, and master scheduling. He is known for his ability to lead teams effectively while ensuring efficient academic operations. Jamie excels in strategic planning, collaboration, and optimizing school schedules to meet the diverse needs of students and staff.

Jamie has previously served as Assistant Principal at South Mecklenburg High School and as Dean of Students at Zebulon B. Vance High School (now Julius L. Chambers HS). His expertise in master scheduling and educational leadership positions him to make a meaningful impact at Harding University High School.

Mr. John Lester - Assistant Principal

With over 25 years of experience in education, John Lester brings a deep commitment to student success and educational excellence to his role as Assistant Principal at Harding University High School. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Education, equipping him with the knowledge and skills to foster a supportive and dynamic learning environment.

Licensed in Language Arts 6-9 and as a School Administrator: Principal, John has extensive experience in both teaching and school leadership. Throughout his career, he has focused on academic achievement, student development, and creating an environment where all students can thrive. Mrs. Erica Wallace - Assistant Principal

A proud Charlotte native and alumna of Harding University High School, Erica Wallace is thrilled to return to her roots and give back to the community that shaped her. With a deep commitment to education and leadership, she is dedicated to fostering a positive and impactful learning environment for students and staff.

Erica holds a Bachelor's degree and a M.Ed., and is licensed in Science 9-12 and as a School Administrator: Principal. Before joining Harding University High School, Erica taught and held leadership positions at Olympic High School, where she gained valuable experience in both classroom instruction and school administration. Her background in science education and leadership equips her with the skills to support student success and create a thriving school community at Harding.

Mr. Oscar Walker - Dean of Students / Athletic Director

Oscar Walker brings nearly 20 years of experience in education, coaching, and leadership to his role as Dean of Students and Athletic Director at Harding University High School. A proud alum of Winthrop University, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration, and Grand Canyon University, where he obtained a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, Oscar has dedicated his career to shaping the lives of students both in and out of the classroom.

Having taught and coached in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS), Oscar has served at Rocky River High School, E.E. Waddell High School, and Garinger High School. He also has a special connection to Harding University High School, where he previously coached basketball under Hall of Fame Coach Walter Aikens. His extensive experience in education, coaching, and leadership allows him to foster an environment of discipline, achievement, and personal growth for students.
