• Meet Our Counselors
Ms. Walker (K-2) and Ms. Elkins (3-5) are excited to join the Ballantyne Bears as your School Counselors. We provide a wide range of services to your students in order to help them be leaders in their communities. We offer individual counseling sessions, group counseling sessions, classroom lessons, and crisis intervention when necessary. We also provide educational support, career exploration guidance, and assistance with emotional regulation. We work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for your student. Our ultimate goal is to empower and support all students so that they can reach their potential and lead successful lives.

    K-2 Counselor
Hi BES families! My name is Marilee Walker, and I am the Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade school counselor. I am originally from Hendersonville, NC, and attended The University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) for my undergraduate degree. After working in health care fundraising and event planning in New York City for 6 years, I decided to pivot career paths and pursue Counseling and Guidance, as I recently completed my master's degree at New York University. I have a passion for youth development, strengths-based counseling, relationship building, and above all, helping students reach their full potential in and out of the classroom. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in the outdoors, playing pickleball, reading, and exploring my new city. This is my first year at Ballantyne and I could not be more excited to begin this journey with you all!

    Sarah Elkins
    3-5 Counselor
I am delighted to be entering my ninth year as a School Counselor here at CMS Schools. I'm also proud to have a son who is a junior at Clemson University and a beloved dog named Kobe. Besides my professional duties, I'm also passionate about working in the yard, planting flowers, and constructing things. My goal is to be an advocate for your student and to help them develop into strong, responsible leaders in our community.
