Together We Feed Charlotte/ Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina

The mission of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHFBM) is to provide food and other essential grocery items to over 700 non-profit organizations in 19 counties in NC & SC. These agencies in turn, provide these products directly to individuals in need. Partner agencies include emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior centers and low-income daycare centers. SHFBM also partners directly with elementary schools on our Child Hunger initiatives. Our Backpack Program is designed to provide children at risk of hunger with backpacks full of ready-to-eat, nutritious foods for weekends and holidays when school meals are not available. Our School Based Mobile Pantry Program supplements our Backpack Program at high poverty rate elementary schools. It provides on-site food including produce, meat and dairy for low-income families.

    Trinity Church

Trinity Church is a continuous partner at our school; Mrs. Suzanne Sawyer is a church leader who is also a volunteer at our school for First Grade.  Their support is extremely important; they are always involved with the staff and the students, and are committed to the success of our school.  Their facilities have served as the training location for our grade level meetings, and their financial support has helped us with several projects such as the staff retreat, supplies for students, and field trips.
