Mr. Brian Bambauer

Dear Levine Middle College High School families,

Levine Middle College High School is a Comprehensive Innovative High School located on the Levine campus of Central Piedmont Community College. Levine opened in 2014 as the second middle-college high school in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, serving students in grades 11, 12, and 13.  Students participate in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Choice Lottery for admission and must meet academic entrance requirements.  Students at Levine Middle College High School will complete their high school graduation requirements while taking Central Piedmont Community College courses towards an associate degree or career/industry certification. The mission of Levine Middle College High School is "to maximize academic achievement for every student in a high school and college environment."

Levine Middle College High School students consistently exceed local, state, and national average scores on the ACT, Advanced Placement exams, and SAT. An average of 50 students per year earn an associate’s degree through Central Piedmont Community College.

I am originally from the Dayton, Ohio, area. I attended a small, rural public school in West Milton, Ohio, and graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1990 with a B.M. in Music Education. My first teaching job was as the Junior High Band Director for Northmont City Schools, in Clayton, Ohio. I then served as the Instrumental Music Coordinator for the West Carrollton City School District in West Carrollton, Ohio, from 1994-1997. Moving to the Carolinas to continue my work in the Drum and Bugle Corps activity, I served as the Director of Operations for Carolina Crown from Ft. Mill, South Carolina for several years before returning to public education in 2004. I earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina - Charlotte. Since then, I have been fortunate to serve many wonderful schools in Charlotte-Mecklenburg, including Hickory Grove Elementary, Rama Road Elementary, Lansdowne Elementary, and most recently Randolph Middle IB World School.

I am grateful and humbled to serve the wonderful students and staff at Levine Middle College High School. I am committed to ensuring that all our students who choose Levine graduate prepared to be successful in whatever college or career path they choose. Thank you for choosing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Levine Middle College High School!
