First Day of School Facts The first day of school is August 26th, 2024! Morning arrival is 8:45-9:15. Student may not be dropped prior to 8:45. School begins at 9:15 Please anticipate late buses and long carpool lines on the first day of school as everyone learns their new school year routine. Students on a late bus will NOT be marked tardy. Parents will not be able to walk students to class or allowed in the school unless newly enrolling their student. We will have staff members stationed throughout the school to direct students to their grade level hallways and classrooms. We will have master lists of students’ homeroom teachers in case they have forgotten. New paper copies of students’ schedules will be waiting for them in their homeroom classes. Students will be issued a Chromebook and charger on the first day of school. They will take their devices home and will need to bring Chromebooks back charged daily. Dismissal begins at 4:15. Please anticipate bus delays and long carpool lines!

Bus Rider Information Make sure you are signed up to be guaranteed a ride to and from school on the first day! Click this banner to sign up and receive the most current bus route info. Don't delay the window will close soon. (date unknown) If parents are already registered they can sign in here and click "Intent-to-Ride Form and see if bus stop information has been posted yet. We will have bus labels at the front desk during Open House in August with bus information. PARENTS HAVE TO REGISTER EVERY YEAR FOR A BUS even if they registered last year! *Please note that if you did not fill out the bus form prior to July 16, you are not guaranteed a bus on the first day of school*
CARPOOL LOGISTICS We recognize that sitting in line to drop off or pick up students in carpool can be frustrating. We work to keep the carpool line moving as quickly as possible. That said, we prioritize the safety of all staff and students. To maintain student safety and to respect our neighbors, we ask that families follow our carpool procedures linked here.
Meals (CMS) will continue to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for School Year 2023-2024. QHMS is a participant therefore breakfast and lunch are FREE! No free/reduced meal applications necessary, unless you’d like an athletic waiver or need documentation from Child Nutrition for another purpose.

Meal & Food Delivery Practices Our goal at Quail Hollow Middle School is to provide our students with an excellent education, both by growing students academically and social-emotionally. Our staffing and material resources are allocated by federal, state, and local entities in alignment to these goals. Given the increased commonplace of food delivery services and our limited resources to manage the associated logistics, the practices linked on this banner are in place.
