Key Dates 2024-2025 School Year

Choice Lottery

New student online enrollment period for the district’s only lottery:  September 12, 2023 –November 13, 2023.  

New incoming students (Future Enrolled) as well as current CMS students will receive their Student Assignment Notification letters in time to participate in the 24-25 Choice Lottery.

The CMS School Choice Lottery will be open from November 27, 2023- December 29, 2023. 

Lottery notification letters for the Choice Lottery will be sent:  Mid-January 2024. 

Reassignment & Transfer Period

Request for Reassignment Period for the district:  February 1, 2024-February 19, 2024.  

*Students brand new or re-enrolling to the district after this date will have ten business days after enrolling to submit a request for reassignment for the 2024-2025 school year.  An application does not guarantee approval. 

Request for Transfer period in order to receive an answer by the start of school:  February 1, 2024-June 30, 2024*.  (Brand new students, re-enrolling, or current CMS students can apply to schools not listed on the Superintendent’s Closed School list.  An application does not guarantee approval.) *Middle Colleges have an earlier Request for Transfer deadline than traditional schools because of our earlier start date
