Greetings MPTS Families,

Welcome to Myers Park Traditional School! We are one of the oldest schools in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools – Myers Park Traditional was first built in 1928 and the most recent addition and renovation was completed in 2003.  We are a Leadership/Traditional magnet school. All of our students participate in the magnet program, which is focused on leadership and using the Leader in Me model. We instill leadership qualities in our students using the eight habits of highly effective people developed by Stephen R. Covey. At our school, we are building each year on a long-standing tradition of excellence and academic success; setting higher goals for ourselves and our students. 

Here is a little bit about me! I began my career in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in 2005 at Windsor Park Elementary where I served as a First Grade teacher and as an Academic Facilitator. Throughout that time, I received my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Supervision from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and my administrative license from Gardner Webb University. I then served as an Assistant Principal at Eastway Middle School from 2015-2018. In 2018, I became the Assistant Principal at Selwyn Elementary.  In addition, I served as an Interim Principal at Montclaire Elementary from January 2021 to June 2021 before being named Principal here in December 2021. On a personal note, I have been married to my husband for six years and we have two amazing little boys. Becoming a parent has made me even more passionate about the work I do.

As a principal, a parent, and a person, I am committed to providing the best education possible to each of our students and I believe that every child can be a leader.
