Jigna Patel

Dear Ballantyne Families, 

 I am excited to join the Ballantyne family as the proud Principal! 

 I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I graduated from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 2003 with a Bachelor's in Journalism and Mass Communication. Afterward, I attended The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where I received my Masters In Elementary Education. After teaching for several years, I went to Wingate University to obtain my license in School Administration. I started my career as a fourth-grade teacher 19 years ago. For the past 13 years, I have been in administration at Lake Wylie Elementary. My number one goal as a principal of Ballantyne Elementary is to create a strong sense of community, a culture of trust, and a passion for academic excellence.  

Ballantyne Elementary School has a strong community support system that is committed to ensuring that each student is provided with the necessary tools to be successful. There is a strong sense of community and school pride at Ballantyne. I want to continue to strengthen the relationship between our school, parents, and community.  We all take a part in ensuring that our school is the best it can be!  If you ever have ideas of ways to improve our school, I would love to hear your feedback.

School communication and parent involvement are essential to the success of all of our students. I encourage each of you to continue to be an active participant in your child’s education. Throughout the remainder of this school year, I will communicate with parents via our weekly Sunday calls and ParentSquare.
