Dr. Kristen Lanier

As Principal of J.M. Alexander Middle School, I am excited to work alongside such a great team of educators! I welcome you and your scholar to become a part of the great things happening at JMA! As I begin my 2nd year at JMA, I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich history within the community.

Throughout the 2023-2024 school year, we want to ensure that your scholar takes advantage of the many opportunities that are offered. At JMA, we follow the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP) curriculum, and we offer access to the IBMYP program for all students. In addition, we have several programs that scholars may choose to participate in such as Band, Orchestra, Dance, Future Cities, and Robotics just to name a few. For the 2023-2024 school year, we continue to support Mr. Brannon Jett as the Athletic Director, and we are excited about increasing the number of scholars who participate in Athletic Programming.

We welcome families to participate within the school, and our PTSA is a vital part of our school. The PTSA works collaboratively to support the teachers, scholars, and parents of JMA through fundraising and hosting many scholar events. Students always look forward to the Annual Color Run held in October. There are many opportunities within JMA for parents and community members to share their time and talent in support of our scholars.
