Posted on: 1/27/25
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is recognizing its National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) this #teamNBCT Week, Jan. 27-31.
National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education. Educators must be able to display a deep understanding of their students, content, data and assessments. They also must show that they participate in learning communities and provide evidence of ongoing reflection and continuous learning.
Seventy-three CMS educators achieved their National Board Certification and 136 NBCTs successfully renewed. Across North Carolina, 707 educators achieved their certification and 1,010 renewed.
“We are incredibly proud of our NBCTs and their commitment to excellence in education,” said Christina Roth, professional development specialist. “Our districtwide support program has seen significant growth over the past several years, and the number of NBCTs has steadily increased. This expansion reflects our dedication to fostering professional development and empowering CMS educators to achieve the highest standards of teaching for all students.”
A reception honoring new and renewed NBCTs will be held in March.
