    Greetings, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Families!

As we approach the holiday season, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. This time of year is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the achievements we’ve made together, and the memories we’ve created.

Together, we have shared many successes this school year – the opening of two new schools and a new replacement school, impressive student achievement data, numerous awards and accolades for our students and staff, and I know there are even more exciting opportunities that await us in the new year.

Before we head out for the winter break, there is still more teaching, learning, engagement and enrichment ahead.

I hope you and your family will join us at the Endless Possibilities: Exploring Education Options at CMS fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the Park Expo Center. This one-day fair is designed to help you make choices about your child’s future. You will have opportunities to meet with professionals who are dedicated to helping you make educated decisions about learning in the elementary, middle, and high school years and beyond. School staff from grades PreK-12, partners in education, career and technical educators, military recruiters and many more will be available to answer your questions. Mark your calendars and make plans to come and see all that Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has to offer.

Additionally, there are several important dates impacting the school calendar this month. Please remember:

    • Dec. 23-Jan. 1 – Winter Break (CMS offices closed to the public)
    • Jan. 2-3 – Teacher Workdays (No school for students)
    • Jan. 3 – School Choice Lottery closes
    • Jan. 6 – Classes resume

I hope this holiday season brings you and your loved ones joy, peace, and relaxation. Whether you celebrate with family traditions, enjoy time with friends, or simply take a moment to rest, may this season fill your hearts with warmth and happiness.

Thank you for being an integral part of our school community. We look forward to returning in the new year, refreshed and ready to tackle new challenges and create even more lasting memories together.

Wishing you and yours a joyous holiday and a happy new year!

    In service and partnership,

    Crystal
