A student will maintain personal attire and grooming standards that promote safety, health, and acceptable standards of social conduct, and are not disruptive to the educational environment. This includes student clothing that materially and substantially disrupts classes or other school activities.

The following items will NOT be worn at school:

    • Clothing with abusive, suggestive or profane language, symbols of illegal drugs, or any other words, symbols or slogans that disrupt the learning environment may not be worn on clothing or as jewelry.

    • Headgear (hats, hoodies, bandanas, etc. will not be worn in the building)

    • Shirts exposing the stomach.

    • Shorts or pants exposing part of the backside.

Students are encouraged to use discretion in their dress and to consult with their parents on the appropriate dress for school.

If not properly dressed, students will be asked to see the grade level administrator to receive a change of clothes.  Before dismissal time the student should change back into his or her clothes and return the borrowed clothing to the administrator before leaving campus.  Since this is a school guideline, students may be subject to consequences under Rule 4 – Student Dress in the Rights and Responsibilities Handbook for repeated incidents of failure to follow this guideline.
