    Imani Harper - Assistant Principal

     

    Imani Harper is originally from Yonkers, New York but now claims Charlotte as her new home. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh, a Masters in Elementary Education from Johns Hopkins University, and a Masters in School Administration from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

    Ms. Harper has been in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools since 2012 where she began at Albemarle Road Elementary School as a Special Education Teacher. Ms. Harper was accepted into the North Carolina Principal Fellows Program in 2019 and completed her principal internship at Phillip O. Berry High School during the 2020-2021 school year.

    Ms. Harper has been at Renaissance West since August 2021. She served as Dean of Students during the 2021-2022 school year and was promoted to Assistant Principal in the 2022-2023 school year. Ms. Harper loves everything about Renaissance West; the community, the partnerships, our families, and most importantly, her students. She is most excited about students and teachers at Renaissance West meeting their goals. #MOVINGFORWARDNOW

    Shelton Morgan - Assistant Principal

     

    Mr. Morgan is proud to serve as Assistant Principals here at Renaissance West and as the administrator over 3rd – 5th grade.

    He is a graduate of the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Sport Science and Fitness Management in 2010, a Master of Arts in Physical Education in 2012, and a Master of Education in School Administration in 2017.

    A native of Elizabeth City, NC, he prides himself on his rural upbringing with a flare of southern charm. He is the proud husband to his wife Allegra and father of one daughter, Bellamy, but as an educator, he views all his students as his own. Mr. Morgan is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, where he aspires to uplift the youth through friendship, scholarship, and perseverance.
