Dr. Teri Neely

Dr. Teri Neely was honored to join University Park in August of 2022 as the Assistant Principal. She has proudly served Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for over two decades, where she has committed to student achievement as a teacher and school leader. She began her career in 1998 as a teacher at J. H. Gunn Elementary. She continued her service as a school leader in the East, as a Beacon Administrator Southwest and now the West Learning Communities within CMS. Her focus has consistently remained “students first”.

Dr. Neely’s humble beginnings fueled her drive and insistence on ensuring that all students have access to a quality education, every day. Building strong relationships with students, families, teachers, and the community ensures that everyone is committed to success.

Dr. Neely has been married to her husband for twenty-two years. Her husband Benny has spent more than a decade at Garinger High School (The Big G), teaching and coaching. Their son Dylan graduated from Mallard Creek High School and is now a junior in college. Their daughter Katie is currently a junior at Mallard Creek. So, it is rare that the Neely family is not on a CMS campus. When not involved in a school event, you can find the family relaxing together.

When asked about the coming school year, Dr. Neely shared “I look forward to continuing to serve students with a renewed focus on “Excellence Without Exception.” I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve with Principal Rae and know that the entire community will be pleased with our students’ success in the coming year(s). As Principal Rae mentioned, things are looking UP at University Park and I am honored to be a part of the work.”
