Ms. Jess Hernandez

I’m Ms. Hernandez, and I’m delighted to join Davidson K-8 School as the middle school counselor! I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  After graduation, I spent six years teaching art at Third Creek Elementary in Statesville, NC.

Inspired by my passion for student success and well-being, I pursued a Master’s in School Counseling from Salem College.  Upon completion of my master’s program, I worked as a school counselor at East Iredell Elementary and NB Mills Elementary in the Iredell-Statesville School District. These experiences afforded me the opportunity to develop comprehensive school counseling programs focused on students' academic achievements, career aspirations, and emotional well-being.

For the last two years, I have served as a District Behavior Specialist. In this role, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with schools in both elementary and secondary settings, working directly to improve their current MTSS programs, provide professional development, and plan interventions and methods to enhance student behavior.
