SDBS Launches Taylor Made Event

SDBS Honors High School

Seniors of Exemplary Character

The Student Discipline and Behavior Support Department (SDBS) debuted its Taylor Made event to recognize outstanding high school seniors with commendable character traits. Each selected student received a tailored suit or dress, and six received a $250 monetary award as a token of appreciation. The program's mission revolves around uplifting these students with the affirmation, "I am a masterpiece, fearfully and wonderfully made."

SDBS plans to alternate recognition between young men and women to ensure inclusivity. This year's recipients were carefully chosen by their school's coaching staff, athletic directors, and the Taylor Made selection committee. The event featured distinguished speakers, including keynote speaker William "Bill" Trosch, a West Charlotte High School graduate and partner at Conrad Trosch & Kemmy Law firm and inspirational speaker Doug Middleton, a former NFL player. Trosch highlighted the significance of maintaining integrity and perseverance, while Middleton offered insights into overcoming challenges.

Particularly noteworthy was the appearance of Ms. Thelma Byers-Bailey, a CMS Board Member who was one of the six monetary contributors.CMS Board Member Thelma Byers-Bailey

Taylor Made not only recognized the accomplishments of these outstanding seniors but also provided them with valuable guidance for their future endeavors. Through Taylor Made, SDBS reiterates its commitment to promoting a community where character and excellence are paramount. See more about this inaugural event here.
