Early Release Day
This Wednesday will be an Early Release Day for all CMS Schools. All scholars will be dismissed at 1:15PM.
School wide parent teacher conferences will be held Monday, November 4th from 10am - 6pm. More information for scheduling will come out soon.
Homecoming 2024 Week Update & Events:
Homecoming Week is here!! The WMS PTA and Athletic Booster Club are sponsoring this year's fall Homecoming Week. Starting tomorrow September 23rd, all Whitewater students will have the opportunity to participate in all homecoming activities, spirit week, pep-rally and the homecoming dance. All homecoming event payments should be paid either via cash or submitted via cashapp to $whitewaterpta (noreen mcallister). Please indicate in the subject box what event your student is partaking in (homecoming dance) and your students first and last name. This will help with any confusion with cashapp purchases. With any homecoming week questions or concerns, please contact AD Calhoun or respond to this post!
Homecoming Court: Homecoming Royal Court applications were distributed the last two weeks and were due by last Thursday. All WMS students will have the option to vote during homeroom tomorrow for their Royal Court selections and the winners will be announced at Tuesday's evening game. Parents/Guardians of those student applicants will receive a separate email outlining details with Tuesday's procedures.
Homecoming Game/Pep-rally: The school wide pep-rally will take place on Game Day during school hours. This is for WMS students only. We will celebrate as we get excited to take on Wilson Middle. The game starts at 5:00pm on the Gator Field. During the game, we will have food trucks, community partners and apparel sales on campus. The homecoming court winners will be announced during the homecoming game. Please remember no students will be allowed to attend the game without being accompanied by an adult 21 years old or older. All guests will have to have to go through our security measures to attend the game.
Spirit Week: Students are encouraged to participate in our weeklong spirit week activities this week! Monday is school appropriate Pajama Day, Tuesday is Green Out Day, Wednesday is Superhero Day, Thursday is Throwback Thursday and Friday is Jersey Day. Please see flyer below for additional details. The WMS and CMS dress code will be enforced and students found in violation of the dress code will be asked to change and or placed in ISS for violating the dress code policy.
Homecoming Dance: We are so excited for our first annual Homecoming Dance that will take place on Thursday. The dance will be held in our WMS Gymnasium from 6-8pm. The theme is “Back to the 90’s.” Students can dress up in their freshest 90's throw back outfits. This is a casual event, formal wear is not necessary to come out and party. Tickets are still on sale until this Tuesday. Tickets are $10 per student and can be purchased during your students lunch period. Huge thank you to those who already purchased tickets in advance! Requirements include no ISS or OSS in order for students to attend. There are no refunds once a ticket has been purchased. This is a Whitewater student only event, non WMS students and parents/guardians are not allowed in the building when the event is taking place. CMS dress code will be enforced. Snack bags and drinks will be available for purchase at the dance.
Fall picture day is right around the corner! All scholars will participate in this school wide picture day on Wednesday, October 16th and these pictures go in our yearbook. 20% of monies go to the school to fund school events for students and teacher appreciation initiatives. All scholars and visitors have to go through the Evolv scanner daily. This year the district has asked parents to find an alternate option other than metal 3 ring binders. If your scholar still uses a 3-ring binder, we will ask them to remove binders and chromeooks before passing through the scanners. Scholars can also keep the binders at home.

Whitewater Middle School is no longer a uniform school; however, we do have a dress code. Parents/Guardians we need your help. The biggest areas of concern are the crop shirts, slides, thigh ripped jeans, short-shorts and biker/spandex shorts. These are not allowed. Parents, please review the full WMS Dress Code Presentation using this link: https://bit.ly/WMSDressCode. There are no exceptions to this expectation. Please follow this policy so that your child can have a successful day at school. If your child is not in dress code, you will receive a phone call from the school so that you can bring the appropriate clothing. If you are unable to come, a discipline infraction will be assigned. Possible consequences for repeated dress violations may include Community Service, change schools, In-School Suspension, Parent Admin Conference.
Early Dismissal Policy
Please remember that there will NO early dismissal after 3:00pm. Even if you call to say that you will be late or have a scheduled appointment. Thank you for your support with this school wide policy. All early dismissals must take place before 3:00pm.
