The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) Federal Programs Department teams manage federal funding programs provided under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) for public and non-public schools located in Mecklenburg County. Currently, the department manages the following grants:

• Title I - Part A: Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged
• Title II - Part A: Building Systems of Support for Excellent Teaching & Leading
• Title IV - Part A: Student Support & Academic Enrichment Grant
• CARES Act* - Elementary & Secondary School Emergency Relief
• CRRSA* - Coronavirus Response & Relief Supplemental Appropriations
• ARP* - American Recovery Plan
