INVESTIGATIONS
The investigations unit comes under the direct supervision of the Deputy Chief of Police. The unit is made up of four detectives, who are sworn law enforcement officers with the powers of arrest in Mecklenburg County. These Detectives conduct criminal investigations related to school property and work closely with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
CMSPD provides the ABC’s of Active Survival Training to all CMS employees. The training teaches the ABC’s (Avoid, Barricade, Counter and Survive) of Active Survival. This curriculum is nationally recognized as one of the very best active shooter training.
