Kelli Glisan named Outstanding Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year

Kelli Glisan, assistant principal at J.V. Washam Elementary, was named the 2024 North Carolina Outstanding Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year by the North Carolina Principals and Assistant Principals' Association. The award recognizes the dedication and success of assistant principals working in pre-K-8 schools.

Kelli Glisan surrounded by Dr. Hill and coworkers.Glisan began her career 20 years ago as a teacher at Nations Ford Elementary in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools before moving to Catawba County Schools, where she was an instructional coach. She returned to CMS and the classroom, teaching at Winget Park Elementary and Palisades Park Elementary. Glisan was also a new teacher coach and dean of students at Renaissance West STEAM Academy before joining J.V. Washam as assistant principal.

“We are very happy that we have such an awesome assistant principal here at J.V. Washam,” said Principal Jaime Tecza. “Kelli does just about everything and anything that we need her to do. She leads with her heart and is the go-to person for anyone who needs assistance and support. It’s been amazing to see her grow in her position.”
